Our Core Values

Everyone’s life, including yours, has a rhythm or “way,” whether we realize it or not. When we place our faith in Jesus that way of living, or rhythm, IS expanded and filled with deeper significance. Now we live to know Jesus Christ more, and to make Him known

“My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)

It is through this new rhythm of life, guided and empowered by His Spirit, that Jesus intends to transform us into His likeness.

At CenterPointe Christian Church we have boiled this new way of living down to 6 G’s. We picked these words because they are biblical, easy to remember, and useful for evaluating our spiritual lives as individuals and as a community of faith.

“We are empowered by the gospel to gather as God’s people, to grow together in Christlikeness, to give of our time, talent, and treasure for the advancement of His kingdom, and to go into the world as witnesses to the hope that is in Jesus.  We do all of this for the glory of God, to make His name known in the world, and to bring others closer to Him.”

All about the

Gospel

Scripture and observation teach us that we all rebel against God and that we cannot earn our way into His presence through our own good works. The good news is that our God is a loving God, and has provided a way for all to be made right with Him by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, His atoning death, and His resurrection from the dead. This the good news, the gospel, and it is God’s power to save and transform each of us into what we were meant to be. The gospel is the doorway to adoption into God’s family.

How we

Gather

We gather together, in large groups and small, in order to worship, pray, encourage one another, and be nourished through biblical teaching. In addition to our Sunday morning services, there are many other environments to facilitate the gathering of God’s people. These include men’s and women’s bible studies, CenterPointe Youth, and our Growth Groups as some examples.

“And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near” (Hebrew 10:25).

How we

Grow

Growth is a sign of life. Jesus says that when we put our trust in Him, we are given new birth, spiritual birth, born of spiritual seed that cannot die. In the physical realm every seed, every newborn, is expected to grow, to mature, and eventually to bear fruit or reproduce.  This is true in the spiritual realm as well. At CenterPointe we believe that growth is critical for each of our members and the community as a whole. To facilitate that growth we offer a number of bible study and service opportunities within our men’s and women’s ministries, children and youth ministries, and in missions at home and abroad.

“Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church” (Ephesians 4:15).

How we

Give

Generosity is a virtue, or discipline, that Jesus praises, teaches, and models as one that should characterize all of his followers. Living generously begins with God’s character. He is a generous giver of good gifts. Every member of the body, the church, has gifts to give for the common good and for the advancement of God’s purposes in the world. These include gifts of time, of talents, and of treasure.

At CenterPointe we encourage everyone to live generously toward the Lord by giving financially toward His work at CenterPointe, and by serving inside and outside the church.

How we

Go

At CenterPointe we believe that the call on every follower of Jesus is to engage with God’s mission to expand His kingdom on earth through the church. We are committed to obeying Christ by being a church that prays, gives, sends, and goes in support of that mission.

We commit to following Christ’s example by being His ambassadors in our community locally and making an impact globally.

“He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation'” (Mark 16:15).

For God's

Glory

God’s glory is a very big deal. His glory is the beautiful, eternal, incomprehensible summation of all that He is, the display of His infinite greatness and worth. Our highest aim as followers of Jesus is to reflect, amplify, and proclaim the glory of God.  In fact, everything we do should be done with that end in mind.

“So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31).

Jesus the Messiah, Son of God, is the physical manifestation of God’s glory (Colossians 2:9), and so by making Him the center of everything, we fulfill our role as glorifiers of God. His glory is the aim and end of our new rhythm of life.
